The Duke Cancer Center relies on volunteers to play its Steinway & Sons piano and bring beautiful music to the lobby, hallways and waiting rooms. Sometimes, those volunteers on the keys are Duke musicians - artists in residence, professors and administrators - who play for Duke Hospital patients, visitors and colleagues.

From 2014 - 2016, I was the Music Teacher at the Duke Children's Health Center & Hospital through the Arts For Life program.  I taught hundreds of pediatric patients ukulele using my original teaching method book.

I also created and produced the "Arts For Life Radio" bedside podcast, where pediatric patients perform songs, tell jokes, and give interviews.  Not to be missed!

From 2013 - 2016, I was a visiting teaching artist at the UNC Hospital School.  I demonstrated and discussed the string-instrument family and taught group and bedside ukulele lessons, featuring both English & Spanish language songs.
